“They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death”. (Revelation 12:11).
We have officially hit the Easter season, and it is a great time to focus in on what Jesus has done.
All over the world, people are remembering the price He paid, and the victory he brought to mankind. Even though we cannot see Him with our natural eyes, He is there. His glory covers the earth like the waters cover the sea, and His fame transcends time. His Kingdom is daily defeating darkness, and increasing all the time. The kingdom of darkness is daily decreasing, and loosing its grip on mankind. In the days to come we shall see more and more people turning to Jesus, more and more healings, and more and more victories in the lives of people. The reason is simple, He is alive, He reigns, and He is in control! All power and authority belong to Him, and His name is exalted above every other name.
What is sad though is how powerless religion has left many Christians. They walk around oppressed, beat down, sick, in bondage, and helpless. Jesus did not die on a cross, so Jew and non-Jew would live a defeated life. No! He has given us tools to overcome, and win the war we are a part of. However, one of the reasons Christians are powerless is that they don’t know who they’re supposed to be. They don’t realize that there is a spiritual war going on, and they are a part of it. They have been taught a theology that is not biblical, and it has left them powerless. They agree that Jesus died on a cross, and they’re going to heaven when they die. Unfortunately people wait their whole lives to die, when they could be living the life Jesus has for them now. They don’t know the authority they have in Christ, to defeat the darkness that attacks them. They are unaware of the powerful work Jesus did on the cross, and how it applies to their lives today. It is time for Christians to awaken to who they are in Christ, and live a life that overcomes the devil.
When Jesus shed his blood on the cross, what Adam was unable to do in the Garden of Eden, Jesus was able to do in the Garden of Gethsemane. He was an innocent 33-year-old man with his whole life ahead of him. In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus died to himself, “not my will but yours,” and laid his life down. He did this because God loved his creation, and was not going to abandon it. When Jesus died on the cross, it brought a new covenant, and restored the authority Adam lost in the Garden of Eden. Jesus gave us the power to overcome any dark thing that comes against us. We overcome by his blood, and our testimony about Him. We have this by faith, and by remaining dependent on Jesus. He has called us to follow him by dying to ourselves, and overcoming every obstacle. By doing this, we live! We live a life that is full and free. We become more alive than anything else, because we are living the resurrection life Jesus paid for.
Remember this Easter that Jesus died so we could live, and live a life in the power of God. He rose from the grave by the same Holy Spirit that lives in us, and he has empowered us to overcome!!! This Easter because of the blood of the lamb, we live and shall not be overcome. Instead, we arise with our Savior, and we overcome!
